What If...

The Story of June

This month has been a series of eventful occasions. Fill with new occurrence and moving on to a new phrase of my life.Immediately after graduation, I was busy preparing for my only sister wedding. Doing all the church booklets and songs for her wedding, it’s hectic but all worthwhile. Seeing my sister finally getting married set me in deep thoughts, the meaning of marriage; the difference between marriage and before marriage. The thing that I could see is that their commitment to each other is affirm by their action, sealing the uncertain and assuring each other the promise of sailing through good and bad time together. Well isn’t that the beauty of marriage. After my sister wedding, went Malacca to visit my grandma. Malacca to me has always been a place that stirs up my sentiment. Half of my heritage comes from there, part of my roots, part of my relatives, and part of who I am. Went there to seek for my affinity, I thought seeing will be proof but by not seeing it grant me much more proof on the wisdom of affinity. “Straggling for a future that you hope is fruitless. Work on your present and you may yet to see the beauty of the journey.”  Putting all the affinity aside, I finally went to the “Da Vinci – The Genius exhibition” at Singapore science centre with Gwen when I come back. Ever since I saw the commercial on TV, I feel like going already. The exhibition is smaller than I have imagined, it's fill with replicate models of Leonardo ideas. The exhibition breaks up into parts, showing different side of his talent. Some parts included are optical, weight, mechanic, flight, war machine, marine engineering, and anatomy, paintings that included details explanations of the following works; The Last Supper and Mono Lisa. There also a video presentation of his life biography, which you can buy at the gift store outside the exhibition hall (I think most of the items are overpriced). Overall I think the exhibition succeeded in showcasing Leonardo genius mind and his versatility. The exhibition is still ongoing till 16th August, the tickets price for adult is $15 and if you have passion card, you can get a discount. I also went to catch “Monsters vs. Alien – 3D” with Meijun before I go army. Thanks guys for the botak Ee Song card, haha not that I will go tekong for long, it just so happen that I have already went and return already. About the movie…it such a long time since I last saw a 3D movie! In the past, they give us those paper type lenses but now it’s quite cool, it was made of plastic frame; the downside is that you must return it after the movie. There not really much things flying towards you but the characters are really cute like Insectosaurus and the funny BOB. The paces of the movie is ok, you will not feel bored halfway as the story plot will keep you on.As I mention above, I went to tekong for army. I not really stress out by the thoughts of being a soldier; I look forward to whatever experience I may gain. As I am now in army, I am abide to the act of confidentiality, I not really sure what I can say or not, so it’s better if I don’t say anything much. What I will say about my stay at tekong is that it is eventful and tekong is really a beautiful island. That all for June, starting works in July for my new posting, which is really near my house, that really great, can save on transport cost. Labels: Event, Exhibition, Movie |
